Union County, New Jersey — Launching January 2028
A church doesn't begin on launch Sunday. It begins years earlier, with people who fund a room they've never sat in, for neighbors they haven't met yet. That's what we're raising for. That's who we're looking for.
Our three-year launch goal — funding everything from today through our first full year of ministry. The first $275K gets us to Launch Sunday.
The runway that carries Converge from vision to a church that sustains itself.
Launch Sunday. Everything before it is built by people who decided early.
Why it takes this much
Union County is one of the densest, costliest places to plant a church in America. Rent is high, space is scarce, and the people we're trying to reach have no reason to walk through a door they've never heard of. Every dollar buys less here than almost anywhere else in the country — which is exactly why so few churches get planted here, and exactly why this one needs partners who understand what they're funding.
We are not raising money to keep a building warm. We're raising it to put a church in front of people who stopped expecting one to be for them.
Before there's a crowd, there's a few.
Where your partnership goes
Allocations are planning figures for a three-year launch budget and will shift as costs firm up. Partners receive a written update twice a year showing where the money actually went.
Before you decide
There's no congregation yet, so there's no attendance number to point at. What we can show you is who is building this, who we answer to, and exactly how you'll hear what happened to your money.
Ty and Tania Sharpe. We've served in ministry for over twenty years, and spent our careers in business and government alongside it. We're both New Jersey natives, educated here and raised here — Ty in North and Central Jersey, Tania in the South. We're not parachuting into Union County to run a church. We're moving our family here to belong to it.
We completed a formal church planting assessment through Stadia. That means outside evaluation of our readiness, ongoing coaching, and a network of churches standing behind this plant.
Twice a year, every partner receives a written update: what we spent, what we're building, what's ahead, and where we're behind. You'll hear the hard numbers, not just the wins. If we miss a milestone, you'll read it from us first.
Ways to partner
Most of what we need will come from a small number of people and churches who decide early. Monthly partnership is the most useful thing to us — it lets us plan — but a single gift at any level moves this forward.
Underwrites a full year of pastoral staffing. We'd want to know you personally — meet with you, pray with you, and keep you close to this for the long haul.
Covers our venue and weekly setup for roughly a year — the physical room where a church that doesn't exist yet becomes real.
Funds a full season of community outreach: interest nights, neighborhood events, and the invitations that reach people nobody else is reaching.
Stands up our children's ministry for launch — curriculum, safety screening, and leader training, so parents can actually be present.
Given every month until we launch. Recurring gifts are what let us commit to a lease, a hire, or a date with any confidence.
There's no floor on this. Give what's right for your household. Every gift is counted, acknowledged, and put to work.
Converge Church is the ministry name of Conquerors Church, an incorporated nonprofit in the State of New Jersey. Our legal name change to Converge Church and our IRS determination letter are both in process. Receipts issued before that change is complete will show Conquerors Church. We'll send written confirmation to every partner once the change is finalized. Please consult your tax advisor regarding deductibility.
